Wooden dop sticks  – 5 pieces

Wooden dop sticks - 5 pieces for cabochon cutting

Holding a small stone directly in your hand during grinding requires precision.
A dop stick gives the stone a handle.
Attach the back of the stone to the end of the stick with dop wax, making it easier to guide the stone during shaping, grinding and polishing.

A better grip during stone working

These wooden dop sticks are designed for making and finishing cabochons: stones with a domed, polished upper surface.
The stick helps you hold the workpiece and adjust its position during the process.
The set contains five sticks, allowing you to prepare several stones on individual sticks.

For use with your grinding and polishing machine

Use the dop sticks as handheld tools for cabochon cutting, for example with a CabKing cabbing machine, a Hi-Tech Diamond Slant Cabber or All-U-Need, or an Inland Craft machine for lapidary work.
You hold the stick in your hand; it is not mounted on the machine.

Use with green dop wax and a dopping station

Use green dop wax to attach the stone to the dop stick.
An Inland Craft dopping station is a practical addition for heating the wax and keeping it ready for use while you work.

Follow the instructions for the dop wax and dopping station you are using.
Allow the bond to cool sufficiently and check that the stone is securely attached before you start grinding.
