The gemstone refractometer is a fundamental instrument in gemmology for determining the refractive index of gemstones.
With this device, gemstones can be tested quickly, accurately and completely non-destructively.
In addition to measuring the refractive index, the instrument also supports the analysis of other optical properties.

Important: The refractive index of diamond is 2.417 and falls outside the measuring range of this instrument.
Diamond cannot therefore be tested with this refractometer.

Professionally calibrated

This refractometer has been calibrated by gemmologist Henk Rijneveld.
The instrument is supplied with a corresponding correction table, allowing any measurement deviations to be precisely adjusted and the actual margin of error to be accurately determined.
This enhances measurement reliability and makes the instrument suitable for professional use.

The test prism is manufactured from high refractive index lead glass, ensuring stable and reproducible measurement results.
